Efforts to help the baby dolphin back into the sea were halted when the security team discovered how exhausted the animal had become, deciding it best to transport it to the Phuket Marine Biological Center (PMBC).
According to PMBC Marine Endangered Speciet Unit department chief, Kongkiat Kittiwattanawong, it was discovered the animal had a bruised tail and it was given antibiotics. Mr Kongklat brought the dolphin into the shallow sea at the center's coast to test whether it could swim or not.
The dolphin is not seriously hurt and Mr Kongkiat said it swam well today, adding that he will find a coast which is not as windy to send the dolphin back home after 1-2 day observation period.
