The warship will stay in Phuket until next Monday (April 1) and will join with Thai ships in “passing” exercises which are designed to ensure effective cooperation and communication in times of war or disaster relief.
Commissioned in 1999, the Huon was deactivated in 2006, but reactivated later the same year for use as a patrol boat supporting border security.
