He had a broken skull, left and right ribs and left leg. He was taken to Patong Hospital and then to Bangkok Hospital, but died of his injuries.
An investigation revealed that the day before Mr Faulkner had been taken to Patong Hospital suffering from hallucinations, but had left without anyone noticing.
It is believed that, suffering from further hallucinations, he jumped from the ninth floor of the hotel.
