The contest is the brainstorm of the owners of Tryst Bar & Nightclub of Mackay, in Queensland. Mackay is the "sugar capital" of Australia.
While the contest rules state the winner will win "comestic surgery", the promotion is blatantly sexy, aimed primarily at women who might want to "improve" their breasts, butts or legs.
The bar has enrolled local cosmetic surgery travel agent ID Rejuvenation Travel to handle the details of the scheme – a free trip to Phuket, combined with plastic surgery.
ID Rejuvenation agent Amy Price told the local Daily Mercury newspaper that most entrants seem interested in breast augmentation.
And that's the way the advertising for the contest is running, as can be seen from the promotion photo.
Ms Price said others were considering dental work, laser corrective eye surgery and other cosmetic procedures such as nose jobs, liposuction and eye-lifts.
The contest is essentially a raffle. Buy a round of drinks at the club for A$50 or more (about B1,500) and get a chance to win the trip.
First prize covers flights, five nights at a hotel, and the chosen surgery.
