Aot issues map to ease passenger confusion at Phuket airport

PHUKET: The Airports of Thailand (AoT) yesterday (Nov 11) released a map via their official Facebook page to help visitors to Phuket International Airport understand how to access the airport’s terminals and car parking facility, and also to show them where the new shuttle bus service pickup and drop off points are located.

The map has been issued as renovations of the old Domestic Terminal cause major upheavals for passengers arriving and departing the island via the airport and is set in both English and Thai.

An official from Phuket International Airport who declined to be named said, “This map has been created to help ease confusion among visitors to the airport. In addition to the map, we have also added additional staff on hand to explain to passengers about the new airport layout and assist them if they are unsure what terminal they should be using.”

People, this conversation started on the basis that you cannot turn right when you leave the international terminal and i stated that you don't need to turn right, you turn left heading towards the domestic exit and do a u turn.
What this has to do with tourists leaving either the domestic or international terminal is that they don't need to know that they can't turn right. They will be in a taxi, bus, mini bus or in my case my vehicle. So how will tourists/visitors be confused? Mind boggling how some of these conversations turn into unrelated topics.

khun swerv, You simply not want to read that a significant number of passengers, including tourists NOT need a bus or taxi, because on Phuket living people come to pick them up at Arrival Hall of Phuket International Airport.

Here is no guessing as you bluntly suggest.
We all already experienced the Phuket airport mess.
Did you read what I wrote about the International Consuls on Phuket?
Did you read we have sometimes to wait 2 hours (!) before our guest comes out of the Arrival Hall?
And were to wait? As the passenger Van mafia did confiscate the former old airport parking lot as being theirs.

By the way: Did your friend, the Chief Immigration at Phuket International Airport already tell you when his computers will be installed and become operational, so that Immigration work can become as it suppose to be, like at any other International airport?
Mind you, khun swerv, it is already more than 2 months after the Thai Prime Minister officially opened the International terminal.

Swerv, according to you and your alter ego, Joe 12, there is nothing wrong with anything in Phuket. All is absolutely perfect! You defend every stupid, backward thing about Phuket and Thailand as a whole. What is wrong with YOU people?

Swerv, the very first paragraph states "The Airports of Thailand (AoT) yesterday (Nov 11) released a map via their official Facebook page to help visitors to Phuket International Airport understand how to access the airport’s terminals and car parking facility," , as I tried to point out, the map is misleading, the other thing is, just who knows about looking at the Facebook page, except those few who read PN? Swerv, defend it if you must, but please, try very hard to think about others, not just yourself, you might have been to the airport 3 times, in the last 6 days, many might go once a year. By the way, going there so often, did you as your friend why the stuff up at immigration.

Kurt: You are going off on a tangent again. As i pointed out to Rorii, tourists don't need to understand the map, they take a taxi or bus. I have been to the airport 3 times in the last 6 days, nothing confusing about it at all.
Don't know what is wrong with you people. You should go to the airport yourselves and stop guessing.

Rorii: You see?
Complete short minded thai thinking of khun swerv. Complete of the road.
Not even realize that many foreign visitors are family/friends of us who live here.
We go to Phuket airport to save them the Phuket transport mafia.
Indirect we are actually saving the face of Phuket by doing that! PS: now we are sure khun swerve is thai.
Read:..PN article Phuket couple irked by poor property standards.
Khun swerve latest reaction on me was that due his thai entity he owns his properties freehold.
So, his 3 university degrees he was throwing to us are thai as well. Mhh, Worthless, not international recognized.
That explains his limited mindset that tourist are leaving the airport only by taxi or bus.
Can not think/analyze, or look over the fence. Insular mind setting.

Rorii, most of us understand your comment. That khun swerv doesn't is because it is difficult for him to put himself in the shoes of tourist.
Most Thai don't.
See the Phuket beach 'tourist management', and specially the war zone at Surin Beach and the very polluted Bang Tao, Kamala and Patong beaches with their untreated waste water release. ( laundries, restaurants, urine and faeces)

I learned that soon all foreign Consuls are going to bring up the chaotic mess of Phuket International Airport ( inside and outside) at the next meeting with the Governor.
Consuls already looked themselves at Phuket International Airport.
Some Consuls needed to pick up visitors, It was a disaster.
Some visitors were landing at 2 PM, and came out of the arrival hall at 4 PM!

Rorii: Tourists will leave the terminal by taxi or bus, so they don't need to understand the map.

swerv, again you do not fully understand my comment... I'll make it easier, put yourself in the shoes of a tourist, or anyone not familiar with the airport, or highway 4031, then ask yourself, how to interpret the map. Anyway, I've had enough of this topic.
