There will be trophies and cash prizes for the 1st-7th finishers in both the male and female categories.

The event will offer three race distances: 2.5 kilometre Family Run (B1,000 per family); a 5.3km Fun Run (B300 per person); and a 10.2km Mini-Marathon (B350 per person), and all registrants will receive a turtle themed running shirt and finishing medal.

There will be trophies and cash prizes for the 1st-7th finishers in both the male and female categories in the mini-marathon and fun run. There will also be trophies for the winners of additional categories including fancy dress, youngest and oldest runners, and heaviest runners who participate.

For the first time ever, the mini-marathon will run across Sarasin Bridge to Phang Nga province and back.

The event starts at 6:15am at Phuket Gateway, at the northernmost part of Phuket, and you can register at Phuket Gateway on race day from 4:30-5:30am, or in advance at the JW Marriott Phuket Mai Khao Beach concierge desk from 10am-5pm, on Oct 3-8.

Funds raised this year will support the building of a new roof for the turtle tank located at the foundation.

The Mai Khao Marine Turtle Foundation also supports a daily beach cleaning team who keep seven kilometres of beach cleaned for potential nesting sea turtles. Additional programs conducted by the foundation include educating local school groups about the plight of sea turtles, and how children’s actions affect them.

The foundation also supports the Royal Thai Navy and the Phuket Marine Biological Center turtle programs. Everyone is encouraged to participate in this event and support local sea turtles.
