Organised by the Office of Krabi Culture, in association with the five provinces of the Andaman – Ranong, Phang Nga, Krabi, Phuket and Trang – the event’s aim is to promote interest in the arts in the Andaman province and find a future art superstar.
More than 200 contestants are expected to the competition, which is open to everybody in Phuket – both Thai and foreigner.
Categories include: Under 7 years old; 7-9 years old; 10-12 years old; high school students; university students and adults.
There will be cash prizes ranging from B500 to B4,000.
The six category winners from Phuket will then be invited to the grand final in Krabi on July 7, where they will have the opportunity of competing with their Andaman counterparts for cash prize of up to B5,000.
Saturday’s event begins at 8am and judging will take place at 2pm, with the grand announcement at 3pm.
