Mr Buntoon, 33, was tracked down by police and taken to Karon police yesterday (February 6), and admitted driving over the German’s belongings with his quad bike, but said it was an accident.
A witness claimed Mr Buntoon drove over the belongings on Monday, breaking Mr Blaschczok’s rented motorbike helmet.
When Mr Blaschczok approached Mr Buntoon asking for compensation for the helmet, it is alleged Mr Buntoon chased the German down the beach swinging a heavy anchor at his head. He apparently missed by less than a metre.
While at the police station, Mr Buntoon denied he swung the anchor or attacked the man in any way.
The police have been given Mr Blaschczok’s address in Phuket and plan to visit him today (February 8) to discuss compensation. There will also be further investigations as there are two different accounts of the incident, said Lt Sathaporn Seenun.
