Pratthana Leelapanang, AIS Executive Vice-President for Marketing, said the deal is expected to boost both companies’ competitiveness in the digital era.
With the network consolidation, Apple’s 60 iStudio shops nationwide will allow AIS customers to sign up for AIS mobile service, change promotional tariff packages and switch from one mobile network carrier to another, conduct bill payments and purchase discounted iPhone handsets at its shops.
Mr Pratthana said AIS has around 1,700 customer service centres nationwide, including 500 of its own Telewiz outlets. AIS also has 25,000 small dealers across the country.
“We expect to earn more revenue from the consolidation with Apple,” said Mr Pratthana.
Paramate Rienjaroensuk, President and Chief Executive Officer of iStudio by Copperwired, an Apple premium reseller, said the deal with AIS will create a business ecosystem for both companies and stimulate mobile industry growth.
He added it would further maximise the utilisation of both companies’ digital network resources and boost diversification of their products and services.
