SURFING: Hey ocean lovers, welcome to another week of surf action.
To the happiness of all new practicing surfers the swell dropped a little this week, and Phuket has also seen steady rainfall of late, but don’t let yourselves be put off by the rain as your going to get wet anyway, and possible the best time to surf out of any is just after the rain stops.
Generally, the rain comes in squalls so you can wax your board up and do your warm up stretches while you watch the spectacular rain clouds sweep across the ocean, then as it stops the ocean cleans up and without a lot of wind produces a clean spell.
Only for a short amount of time, but enough to score some nice cleaner waves and without the crowds.
A little safety shout out. Whenever you are in the water, never hold the little rope that connects your leash to the board.
A surfer the other day was doing this and as a wave came it spun the board around and the rope cut the top of his finger clean off.
You can pull on your leash to bring the board close to you but always take hold of the board not the end of the leash.
See you in the water!
