A new website for the girls

Female backpackers across Thailand can add a new helpful travel tool to their wallet with the launch of the BlondeTraveler.com website.

Sunday 24 June 2012, 03:34PM

For the first time, a travel website is targeting them, specifically, and offering membership cards that get them discounts of around 20-25 per cent at guest-houses, restaurants, spas, dive resorts, and more.

The membership, which costs around B1,000 for one year, comes with the member’s photo and birth date (so can be used for ID). With that membership, they can get discounts at over 40 venues across Southeast Asia, with many of the discount partners being in Thailand.

The membership can be used to get 20 per cent discounts at two Southern Thailand dive resorts: Sail Rock Divers on Koh Pha’ngan and New Way Diving on Koh Tao.

It can also be used for 20-40 per cent off room rates in Phuket at Eden Bungalow and Sky Dream Hotel.

The BlondeTraveler team regularly updates the site with difficult-to-find travel information for the region, while also providing members with a host of services, from legal advice, to dietary counselling, to shopping and beauty advice, to transportation bookings, to extreme sports counselling, and health care advice.

And they have a special passion for making sure scammers are called out on their crimes. They also focus on helping their members out in an emergency.

Already, BlondeTraveler has partnered up with some big names in the industry, including AirAsia.

The team have big plans for the future. “My main goal is to make travel much easier and safer for women travelers in Southeast Asia,” says Kaila Krayewski, founder and Managing Director of BlondeTraveler.

“If I can do that, I will have done my job.”

And no, you don’t have to be blonde.
